FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - University of Arkansas senior golfer Craig Lile was named first-team All-SEC as was announced by the Southeastern Conference media relations' office on Monday. Lile was the only Razorback that was selected for post-season honors by the conference.
For Lile, who has led the Razorbacks in all eleven tournaments the Hogs have played in this season, this is third time he has been named All-SEC. In 1998, Lile was named freshman of the year and earned first team honors and last year was named second team All-SEC.
In the 11 tournaments that the Razorbacks have played in, Lile won three tournament titles winning the Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate, the Pepsi Southwest Missouri State Fall Challenge and the University of Texas-San Antonio Invitational. Lile finished in the top five in six tournaments, top ten in seven tournaments and finished in the top 20 in all but one tournament all season.
Lile is currently ranked 33rd in the nation and has the lowest stroke average in the conference at 68.61.
Lile and the Razorbacks will play in the Maxwell this weekend, May 11-13, at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla. Lile will then move on to compete at the NCAA Central Regional, May 17-19, at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla.
