South Florida Added to 2002 UA Football Schedu

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas will host the University of South Florida in a non-conference football game on Sept. 14, 2002, at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark.
The USF game was added to the Hogs' 2002 football schedule after a previously scheduled game with the University of Memphis was cancelled. The addition will give Arkansas eight home games in 2002 including three in Little Rock, Ark.
"We are grateful that South Florida was able to work things out to play us on the 14th," Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles said. "We needed to get a game in between our season opener and the conference opener. USF is an up and coming program that had an impressive record last year. I think this game was a good fit for both schools."
The Bulls were 8-3 last season including a 35-26 win over the University of Pittsburgh and a 45-6 win over Houston. USF will be entering its second season of Division I-A football in 2002 and is slated to join Conference USA in 2003.
