This is the 13th of 20 preseason features highlighting each student-athlete on the University of Arkansas volleyball team. Each day a different Razorback will draw and answer seven (out of a 15) get-to-know-you questions to give the fans a peek into their personality away from the volleyball court. The 2014 season begins Aug. 29 against Tennessee State at 7 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. Click HERE to purchase season tickets.
Day 13 (Thursday, August 21, 2014):
Savannah Voelzke
Sophomore | OH | 6-0
Longview, Texas (Spring Hill HS)
Q: If you could teach a class in any topic, what would it be?
Voelzke: I’d be a volleyball coach.
Q: What is your favorite memory from the Europe trip?
Voelzke: Getting to experience all the different counties and realizing how they live. I lived with Barbara (Dapic) for a year and I was always saying ‘you don’t like any of our food?’ but when we went there, the food was different for us, too. I got to experience what it was like for her when she came to Arkansas.
Q: What’s the one thing you have to do before each match?
Voelzke: Dance party with the team. It’s our ritual.
Q: If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you?
Voelzke: Definitely my dad, a knife and a flashlight.
Q: What movie do you know every line of dialogue?
Voelzke: I may not know every line but Mean Girls.
Q: It’s match point. Win on a monster kill or a huge block?
Voelzke: Monster kill!
Q: What’s the most interesting/funniest account you follow on Twitter?
Voelzke: (after being "interrupted" by Danielle Harbin and Breana Jones coming from the training room)@vballproblems because it’s really accurate.
