FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Arkansas All-American Ethan Tracy picked up his second win of the season on the eGolf Tour last weekend, claiming the River Hills Championship to highlight a strong weekend for Razorback alumni across the professional golf tours.
After paring his opening 10 holes of the final round, Tracy carded five birdies over a six-hole stretch en route to shooting a 30 on the back to come away with the two-stroke win and $32,000 first-place prize. Tracy currently stands second on the tour’s money list heading into the eGolf Tour Championship.
Tracy’s second win of the year was even more special for the 2011 Arkansas graduate, as his father, Dan, was on his bag the whole week. Earlier in the year in his first start on the eGolf Tour, Tracy won the Palmetto Hall Championships at Robert Cupp Course in Hilton Head, S.C., which, ironically, is the host site of the eGolf Tour Championship that will be held on Dec. 3-6.
While preparing for the eGolf Tour Championship, Tracy will participate in the Web.com Tour qualifying school which participants have to advance through three preliminary stages to make it to PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. for a grueling 108 holes (six rounds).
#ProHogs On Web.com Tour
Three former Razorbacks are currently on the Web.com Tour looking for one of the coveted 25 PGA Tour Cards for the 2014-15 season that will be handed out following the tour’s four-event Web.com Tour Finals. Sebastian Cappelen, David Lingmerth and Tag Ridings will all take part in this week’s Chiquita Classic held at River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.
Lingmerth got off to a great start in the Web.com Tour Finals last weekend, finishing in a tie for fourth place at the Hotel Fitness Classic. A 2010 graduate, Lingmerth moved up 22 spots on the leaderboard with a final round eight-under 64. Ridings turned in a solid showing by grabbing a piece of 25th place, while Cappelen failed to make the cut. Cappelen just missed earning his PGA Tour Card during the Web.com Tour regular season, finishing 26th on the money list with the top 25 earning tour status for 2014-15.
The top 25 money winners from the Web.com Tour Finals will receive their PGA Tour Card. The Chiquita Classic is the second of four events that will be followed by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and the Web.com Tour Championship.
