OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – A pair of 74s from junior Taylor Moore and freshman Emil Soegaard highlighted the No. 21 Arkansas men’s golf team’s second day at the Olympia Fields CC/Fighting Illini Invitational. Part of a 15-team field that includes 10 ranked teams, the Razorbacks will enter Sunday’s final round in 13th place.
Moore and Soegaard’s scores were part of a 303 turned in by the Razorbacks on Saturday, following up a 301 on Friday. Baylor became the first team to shoot under-par on Saturday to move from sixth place to owning an eight-stroke lead with a two round score of 576. Host and No. 6 Illinois (586) occupies second place while Florida State (589) sits in third.
Playing in just his second collegiate tournament, Soegaard backed up Friday’s 73 with a 74 in the second round to sit in a tie for 18th place overall. Soegaard has a counting score in all five rounds so far this fall.
Redshirt junior Kolton Crawford entered the day in a tie for sixth place, but carded a 78 that dropped him into a share of 34th place. Junior Gonzalo Rubio also carded a 78, while redshirt sophomore Zach Coats turned in a counting score of 77.
