@RazorbackWTEN Announces 2015 Spring Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas’ women’s tennis team has released details regarding its 2015 spring schedule. Twelve home dates including seven home Southeastern Conference matches serve as highlights.

In total, 17 of the 24 opponents the Razorbacks will face advanced to the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Arkansas will welcome in nine opponents to the Billingsley Tennis Center who were a 2014 NCAA team and will play the remaining eight on the road.

Six of the 11 non-conference opponents were a tournament team a year ago, while 11 of the 13 conference opponents moved on to postseason play.

The Hogs begin their calendar with a six-match homestand, opening up with a doubleheader against Wichita State and Mercer on Jan. 17.  The following week, Arkansas takes on another doubleheader of UC-Santa Barbara and Southern Illinois on Jan. 23. The Razorbacks remain at home to take on Oklahoma Jan. 25 and Old Dominion Jan. 30.

Arkansas hits the road for the first time on Feb. 1 and heads to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State. The team has a brief bye week and returns to action Feb. 14 at the Billingsley Center to face Jackson State.

Arkansas heads north to West Lafayette, Ind., on Feb. 20 to face Big Ten foe Purdue. The following day, Arkansas will play Memphis in a neutral-site match in West Lafayette.

The Razorbacks open SEC play at home this season, welcoming in the Missouri Tigers on March 1. They head to Mississippi for their next two matches, taking on Ole Miss and Mississippi State on March 6 and 8, respectively.

Arkansas comes back home to play Florida (March 13) and South Carolina (March 15) the next weekend. The Razorbacks will then go on their longest road trip of the season, traveling to Kentucky (March 20) and Vanderbilt (March 22). A midseason non-conference tilt at Tulsa is also slated for March 24.

Following the road trip, Arkansas has four consecutive home dates to round out its home portion of the conference schedule. Arkansas faces Georgia (March 27), Tennessee (March 29), LSU (April 3) and Texas A&M (April 5) during its homestand.

Arkansas finishes conference play at defending SEC champion Alabama on April 10 and Auburn on April 12.

The SEC Championships will be held in Columbia, S.C., April 15-19.
