@RazorbackMGolf Slips in Round Two in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – Junior Taylor Moore turned his second straight solid round, as the Arkansas men’s golf team slipped down the leaderboard on day two of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational held at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club on Monday.

Moore opened his day with 10 straight pars before finishing with a one-under 71 to lead the Razorbacks for the third time this fall. Making the 30th straight start to open his career, Moore’s 71 followed an even-par 72 on Sunday to place him in a tie for 28th position. Moore has shot even-par or lower on the front nine and back nine in both rounds.

Arkansas’ four-man score of 299 dropped it to 15th place in the team standings after shooting an even-par 288 in the first round. No. 5 Vanderbilt leads at 26-under par while No. 4 Florida State (-22) and No. 17 Texas Tech (-22) round out the top three in a field that features nine ranked teams.

A day after shooting a six-under 66, junior Nicolas Echavarria turned in an uncharacteristic 78 on Monday, but still sits at even-par for the tournament. Tied for 30th overall, Echavarria birdied his final hole of the day to shoot even-par on the front and is a combined four-under on that side through two rounds.

Redshirt junior Kolton Crawford closed the second round with 11 straight bogey-free holes, playing two-under par over that span to shoot 74. Freshman Alvaro Ortiz extended his streak to eight straight rounds with a counting score with his second consecutive 76, while classmate Emil Soegaard supplied a 77.

Arkansas will return to Lake Nona Golf and Country Club for the final round of its fall season on Tuesday starting at 8:15 a.m. Live scoring is available all three days at www.Golfstat.com or via the Golfstat Live app.
