NEW ORLEANS – The Arkansas women’s cross country team moves up three places to No. 7 in the national poll after an impressive first-place finish at the 2016 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championship. The latest national rankings were announced Tuesday afternoon by the USTFCCCA.
At its highest poll entry of the season, the Razorbacks share the No. 7 standing with Stanford.
Capturing team titles at both the Chile Pepper Festival on Oct. 1 and the SEC Championship last Friday, Arkansas has secured victories at both home events this season in addition to its many successes on the road.
The Razorbacks are now one of only two SEC programs to remain in the national rankings, heading into the regional competition and continue to show dominance as the No. 1 team in the South Central Region.
Arkansas looks to continue its home reign at its third and final home meet on Friday, Nov. 11, as it hosts the 2016 NCAA South Central Regional set for 11 a.m. CT at Agri Park in Fayetteville.
