BELLEAIR, Fla. - Arkansas, the first team to tee off in the 2025 SEC Championship on Monday morning, struggled to gain momentum throughout the day and finished 8-over par and tied for twelfth with three other teams.
The second-ranked Razorbacks collected just two birdies, both on par 3 holes, on the front nine and made the turn in last place at 10-over par. Arkansas improved to 8-over after eight birdies on the second nine, with each of the Hogs' five golfers making birdie at least once. Sophomores Maria Jose Marin (T30, +1) and Abbey Schutte (T38, +2) paced the Hogs, going 1-under in their final nine holes.
No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 Texas, who were paired with the Razorbacks in round one, finished in the top 5 of the leaderboard. The Gamecocks hold a 7-shot lead over second-place LSU.
Arkansas will tee off the second round at 8:40 a.m. CT with Reagan Zibilski on hole No. 1 of the Pelican Golf Club, followed by Kendall Todd (8:50 a.m.), Schutte (9:00 a.m.), Clarisa Temelo (9:10 a.m.) and Marin (9:20 a.m.).
