FAYETTEVILLE – A pair of school records were broken by the Razorbacks during Friday’s Arkansas Qualifier in the 800m and distance medley relay at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Rivaldo Marshall broke a 25-year-old UA record in the 800m with a meet record 1:45.62 and also bettered a day old Jamaican national record of 1:46.10 in the process. The previous school record of 1:45.95 was set by Dirk Heinze in 2001.
The previous meet record of 1:46.07 set by 2013 by Razorback Leoman Momoh was previously second best on the UA all-time list. In becoming the first Jamaican to better 1:46 indoors, Marshall topped the record set by Navasky Anderson in France on Thursday.
Last weekend, Arkansas teammate Tyrice Taylor initially broke the Jamaican record with a 1:46.11 victory at the Tyson Invitational when Marshall clocked 1:46.30 as runner-up.
Marshall, the 2024 NCAA Indoor champion with Iowa, claimed the Arkansas Qualifier 800m over the Oregon duo of Matthew Erickson (1:45.93) and James Harding (1:46.44). Erickson won the 2025 NCAA Indoor title.
